Gabrelcik Earns 14th Career ASUN Golfer of the Week Honor

Ties ASUN Mark for Most in Conference History
ATLANTA - For the 14th time in his career at UNF, senior Nick Gabrelcik has been awarded ASUN Men's Golfer of the Week to surpass Dawson Armstrong from Lipscomb to become the top all-time weekly award recipient for men's golf in Atlantic Sun Conference history, as announced by the league office on Thursday afternoon.
Gabrelcik earned a share of eighth overall at the Puerto Rico Classic to help his team reach fourth-place among a majority field of Power Five opponents. He recorded 12-under 204 with his best round coming from the 6-under 66 opening round with seven birdies.
"Just another solid week for him," said head coach Scott Schroeder on Gabrelcik's performance in Puerto Rico. "We're looking to keep it rolling with a quick turnaround at Florida."
It is the third time he's been awarded the ASUN weekly award this season and the fifth time a UNF golfer has been selected this fall after Robbie Higgins won it after his performance at the Sea Best Invitational. The three-time ASUN Men's Golfer of the Year has gradually moved up PGA University's rankings to now stand as the No. 3 golfer in the country.
The Ospreys continue its spring season with an in-state appearance at the Gator Invitational hosted by Florida from Feb. 17-18 in Gainesville, Fla.
