
Davies Announces Men's Soccer Coaching Staff

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida men's soccer welcomes the additions of Jaymee Highcock and Alex Rangel as assistant coaches to the staff for the upcoming 2024 season, as announced by head coach Jamie Davies on Tuesday afternoon.
Highcock brings experience from the D-I level as a first assistant and recruiting coordinator at Fairleigh Dickinson from 2020-23. Rangel most recently served as the goalkeeper coach and the director of operations for Grand Canyon from 2021-23.
Highcock joins the Osprey staff as an assistant coach after serving as the first assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for four seasons at Fairleigh Dickinson from 2020-23.
During his time at Fairleigh Dickinson, he was involved in a successful run in the program with three NEC playoff appearances in which the team was ranked no lower than third. In fall 2022, they finished the regular season undefeated, won both the regular season and conference tournament championships, was awarded NEC Staff of the Year and earned a trip to the NCAA Tournament.
Highcock helped in producing 20 NEC All-Conference selections, a NEC Rookie of the Year performer, a NEC Defensive Player of the Year and a NEC Player of the Year. In the fall of 2023, Hugo Bacharach was selected ninth overall in the MLS Superdraft under the development of Highcock and the FDU staff.
Before reaching the D-I coaching levels, Highcock served as the head soccer coach for William Penn on the NAIA level from 2015-20. During his six seasons, he went on to become the most successful coach in the school's history.
In fall 2019, he was ranked ninth in the nation, placed as HAAC runner-ups and finished as an NAIA national tournament team. He produced 24 scholar athletes, 20 All-Conference performers and nine All-American selections.
From 2013-15, Highcock got his start as a collegiate coach serving two seasons as an assistant at Avila University. The squad were Heart of America Conference runner-ups to become the most successful team in school history, while also notching six All-Conference performers and an All-American selection.
Highcock also has additional coaching experience where worked summer camps at UCLA, Creighton, San Diego State, Villanova, UCF, Akron and Drake. He assisted in running youth and empowerment clinics in Caribbean, Africa, North America and Europe as well.
On top of his collegiate coaching, Highcock was an assistant coach for the Antigua national team, in which he led team to FIFA World Cup and Olympic qualifying rounds. He also shadow coached and worked alongside the following professional soccer clubs: Newcastle United, AFC Bournemouth, Southampton and Portsmouth FC.
Along with his international coaching ventures, Highcock has been a MLS youth coach for the Cedar Stars Academy. He has extensive coaching education with the following certifications: US Soccer B License, UEFA B License and United Soccer Coaches Premier Diploma.
Highcock earned his Bachelor's of Arts in Teaching and Special Education at Benedictine College, where he was the team captain and led team to Heart Conference Championship, as well as the Sweet 16, in 2009. He also went on to achieve his Master's in Organizational Management at Avila University.

Rangel joins the Osprey staff as an assistant coach after serving as the goalkeeper coach, as well as the director of operations, for Grand Canyon over the past three seasons from 2021-23. He helped design, craft and execute goalkeeping training sessions that support overall philosophy of developing professionals and winning.
During his time at Grand Canyon, he helped the team to a West Coast Conference regular season championship in 2021. The squad went on to make an appearance in the NCAA Tournament that season against Denver, who at the time had current Osprey, Ethan Ash.
Before Rangel's time as an Antelope, Rangel served as an assistant coach, goalkeeper coach and director of operations at Oregon State during the 2022 season. He was in charge of set-piece, video, camp, equipment and social media coordination, as well as travel.
In 2022, the Beavers made it to the NCAA Tournament as the No. 8 national seed. They advanced to the second round of the postseason after earning a bye as a top-16 seed.
Rangel's first stop as a collegiate coach began with Pima Community College, where he was a goalkeeper coach from 2016-21. He assisted the team to three regional titles, three district titles, three national title appearance and a national championship title in 2018.
On top of his collegiate experience, Rangel also has worked with youth club teams, as he currently is in his fourth season as a goalkeeper coach and assistant coach for Real Salt Lake Arizona. He is responsible for setting the vision for youth goalkeeper development within the academy with emphasis on technical, vision, communication and leadership.
Rangel started off as a club coach in 2016, when he became the goalkeeper coach for FC Tucson and served in that position until 2021. He was on a staff that earned a pair of conference championships and regional runner-ups, as well as three goalkeepers named in top five of PDL and 10 former keepers moving on to play professionally.
Since 2015, he has also been the owner and the president of Top Hand Goalkeeping, which has impacted over hundreds of youth goalkeepers through his program. He has extensive coaching education with certifications for USSF F, E, D & C, as well as NSCAA Diplomas 1 & 2 -- GK Specific.
Rangel started his college education at Pima Community College from 2007-09. He went on to graduate from Columbia College (Missouri) with a Bachelor's of Arts in Business Administration in 2011.
