JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida softball welcomes former Big Ten Pitcher of the Year, Amber Fiser, as the assistant pitching coach for the Ospreys as announced by head coach Jeff Conrad on Tuesday afternoon.
"Amber [Fiser] was the person we had targeted from day one. In talking to a lot of respected pitching colleagues, the one name in common they all mentioned was Amber Fiser," said Conrad on the hire. "I think the arms we were able to assemble was a big selling point for her to come here. Her presence will be felt not only in the bullpen, but by our hitters as well."
Fiser joins the Osprey staff as an assistant coach after serving the 2023 season as a graduate assistant for Missouri. She helped the Tigers' coaching staff to a 35-26 record with an appearance in the NCAA Regionals.
Before her time with Missouri, Fiser was an All-American pitcher at Minnesota from 2017-21. She completed her career with a 1.70 ERA and a 98-35 record while striking out 953 batters over five seasons.
Fiser was recognized as the 2019 Big Ten Pitcher of the Year, while earning First Team All-American honors and being listed among USA Softball's Top-25 Player of the Year List. She led Minnesota to its first Women's College World Series in the NCAA era while pitching every inning of Regionals and Super Regionals.
She finished her collegiate career ranked third in appearances (166), innings pitched (859.1), career wins (98) and saves (10), while also being fourth in shutouts (27) and fifth in strikeouts (953).
After completing her collegiate career at Minnesota, Fiser was selected No. 5 overall in the Athletes Unlimited Softball draft and now currently plays for Smash it Sports Vipers in the Women's Professional Fastpitch League.
