Women's Golf Signs Colombia Native, Valeria Lizcano

Fourth Newcomer to Join Ospreys For 2023-24 Season

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida women's golf announces the addition of freshman and Colombia native, Valeria Lizcano, as announced by head coach Joanne Berglund Wednesday afternoon.

She is the fourth newcomer, as well as the second freshman to join the Osprey squad for the upcoming season. Casilda Allendesalazar and Shivani Karthikeyan will be coming as transfer players, while One Kashima will be with Lizcano as the true freshmen on the squad.

High School: The Victoria School
Best 54 (2022): 8-over 224 (HJGT)
Scoring Avg. (2022): 74.67 (HJGT)

Junior/Amateur: Played HJGT tournaments at LPGA Ladies Invitational and Disney Summer Junior Open...won individuals titles at the 2022 Abierto del Club Militar and 2022 Abierto Ciudad de Cúcuta...was also runner up in 2023 Copa Donovan y El Tiempo and Disney Summer Junior Open...finished top three in three other tournaments, including the Ladies Invitational at Daytona Beach HJGT.

Personal: Attended The Victoria School in Bogotá, Colombia...graduated second in her class with outstanding academic performance honors from 2017-2019...also earned an IB Diploma...born on Jan. 8, 2005...daughter of Fabio Lizcano and Vanessa Ojeda...has one sister, Juliana (11)...plans to major in marketing.

Chose UNF because "I think it has a great support and level, academically and athletically, for me to grow and succeed in the future."
