Honor Given to Student-Athlete With Highest GPA in Each NCAA Championship
ORLANDO, Fla. - After becoming the first NCAA Elite 90 honoree in UNF history a year ago, North Florida women's tennis Kit Gulihur made it consecutive awards to add to the star-studded student-athletes' massive trophy case.Â
Gulihur is one of three student-athletes in NCAA Division I women's tennis to earn the honor in back-to-back years. The graduate student is also the only honoree from a non-Power Five program.Â
An award created by the NCAA, the Elite 90 acknowledges the true essence of what it means to be a student-athlete by recognizing the individual who has reached the championship level while also attaining the highest GPA among all other competitors in the championship field of their respective sport.Â
Gulihur posted a 22-match winning streak this season, having it snapped in the NCAA Singles Championship Round of 64 May 22. The top-slotted singles and doubles student-athlete swept the superlative awards in the league this season, taking home ASUN Player of the Year, ASUN Scholar-Athlete of the Year, ASUN Tournament MVP and ASUN Doubles Pair of the Year awards.Â
A 4.0 student in the master's of international affairs, program Gulihur went 28-7 in singles and 18-3 in doubles, helping North Florida to the 2023 ASUN Championship, its 10th in program history. Gulihur also set the conference record for weekly awards, taking home three more ASUN Player of the Week honors for eight total.Â
Gulihur also recently picked up College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors earlier this month, while earning all-american honors a year ago and the latest of three ASUN Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards.

Eligible student-athletes are sophomores or above academically who have participated in a sport for at least two years with their school. All ties are broken by the number of credits completed.Â
