UNF Alum Joins USWL League Team On One-Year Contract
ORLANDO - After earning a preseason roster spot with the Orlando Pride Jan. 30, Thais Reiss' continued performance earned the midfielder another contract with the Pride as Reiss signed a one-year deal with the United Women's Soccer League team as announced by the professional organization April 7.
Reiss initially signed with the Pride June 11 of last season after earning a non-roster invitation to preseason camp in the winter of 2022. Last year, Reiss made her professional debut June 12 at Chicago, going on to appear in five matches while making two starts. One of those starts came in the team's match at the Daytona International Speedway last summer.Â
The UNF women's soccer alumna has an option for an additional year as the contract runs through the 2023 campaign. The next game up for the Pride is a road match against Minnesota April 15. Most matches can be streamed via Apple TV via MLS Season Pass.
More on Reiss from UNF
The Curitiba, Brazil, native goes down as one of the greatest to put on a North Florida uniform. Reiss scored 42 goals and assisted on 18 more, making the ASUN All-Conference First Team on four occasions while earning 2020 conference player of the year recognition.
The 2017 ASUN Freshman of the Year went on to be named league player of the week five times while also earning five United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region honors. With a flair for the dramatic, Reiss finished first in program history for game-winning goals, which is also good for second in ASUN history.
