JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida softball is ready to conclude non-conference play, as well as midweek competition, when it hosts Georgia Southern for a doubleheader on Apr. 26, starting at 2 p.m., in UNF Softball Complex.
The Ospreys have won five of their last seven games, including a sweep against Bellarmine this past weekend to put themselves back into ASUN Championship tournament contention. They will be ready to face the Eagles to help tune up for their final conference series of the season against FGCU and Jacksonville.

WHAT TO KNOW
- Last season, UNF took both games on the road against Georgia Southern to extend their winning streak against them to six straight games.
- Shannon Glover went 4-for-4 in the second doubleheader game last year and was a double away from the cycle.
- Kayla Harper also had a multi-hit game, while Savannah Channell hit a three-run homer.
- They will look to go above .500 in midweek games to end the year, as they sit with a 4-4 record this season.
- The Ospreys are coming off their first shutout sweep against an ASUN opponent since 2019.
- Held the Knights to three hits or less in every game played over the weekend.
- Halle Arends, who was voted Preseason ASUN Pitcher of the Year, earned her first win on the season against Bellarmine since returning at the start of conference play.

OPPONENT NOTES
- Georgia Southern comes in with a 17-26 record overall, while only recording two of those wins on the road. They are currently facing a four-game losing streak that includes being swept last weekend at home against South Alabama. This will be there second time playing an ASUN opponent, as they faced Kennesaw State at home and were shut out, 5-0. Emma Davis is far and away their best hitter by average at .369 with 48 total hits and 12 RBIs. Dejah Mills leads the team in RBIs with 24 total, while Janai Conklin holds the home run lead at five total. Faith Barth joins Davis as the only other hitter on the squad with over 40 hits this season. The Eagles have three pitchers that regularly receive starts, headlined by Bailey Holland with a 4.15 ERA, a 6-12 record and 55 total strikeouts.
- UNF leads the overall series against the Eagles, 17-5, with the last meeting being a 12-0 run-ruled victory at Statesboro, Ga., in 2022.
