First Time Qualifying Via Team Ranking
NORMAN, Okla. - North Florida men's golfer Nick Gabrelcik continues to add major achievements to his career résumé with a third consecutive selection to represent the United States team in the Arnold Palmer Cup from June 8-10 at Laurel Valley Golf Club in Ligonier, Pennsylvania.
The Trinity, Fla., native was tabbed to the team as one of 12 men's golfers to represent the U.S. He was selected via team ranking qualification after being selected as the U.S. coach's selection the past two appearances.
The three-time ASUN Golfer of the Year is one of three players on the 2023 team to play for the U.S. during last year's event. He is also the only one to be a part of the men's squad for three consecutive years.
The Arnold Palmer Cup was co-founded by Arnold Palmer and The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) and began at the Bay Hill Club & Lodge, Orlando, Fla. in 1997. The event is a Ryder Cup-style tournament featuring the top male university/college golfers matching the United States against Europe. In 2018, the participants expanded to include corresponding women golfers who were added to both the USA and International teams and making the Palmer Cup the only major tournament which features men and women playing side-by-side as partners.
Beginning with the 2018 matches at Evian Resort Golf Club, the Arnold Palmer Cup is the only major tournament which features men and women playing side-by-side as partners.
