JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida (8-4) jumped out to an early lead and went on to cruise towards a 4-0 sweep against Virginia Commonwealth (3-7) Thursday morning. UNF didn't drop a set and has now swept consecutive matches.
Due to the lack of available VCU players, the Ospreys were given a 2-0 lead to begin the match; only four Rams players were eligible to participate. Additionally, only two courts participated in doubles play. UNF won 6-3 at the top doubles slot to clinch the point, leaving the second court unfinished as the Ospreys entered singles up 3-0.
In singles play, No. 85
Kit Gulihur won 6-1, 6-1, in the top slot to clinch the win for the Ospreys. The three other courts were left unfinished.
The Ospreys will have a day off before they host USF Saturday, March 11 in the non-conference finale.
