Men’s Tennis’ Home Winning Streak Snapped at Six

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - UNF men's tennis (7-4) fell to a tough UAB (12-4) team Thursday afternoon, snapping UNF's undefeated home record on the season in the non-conference finale.
In doubles play, PJ Kotan and Breno Marques fell, 6-3. At the top slot, Jonas Hartenstein and Rodrigo Crespo defeated their opponents in a seven-point tiebreaker. With the doubles point left up to the remaining court, Matt Carroll and Bruno Vietri couldn't hang on as UAB secured the doubles point in a long seven-point tiebreaker, 10-8.
The Blazers continued their momentum as Noah Malige quickly knocked off Kotan, 6-2, 6-2. With a 2-0 lead for UAB, Hartenstein fell in two sets at the top slot. Shortly after, Vietri fell in the third position as the Blazers clinched the win. The remaining three courts were left unfinished.
The Ospreys have a night's rest before they face Stetson on the road Friday, March 17 at 4 p.m., before returning back to Jacksonville to host Austin Peay Sunday, March 19.
