Six-Camera Setup Installed at UNF Tennis Complex
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida men's and women's tennis took a big step forward in the technology available to the programs and the visibility of the two teams as PlaySight was installed at the UNF Tennis Complex.
The installation features six cameras, one at each competition court, making live streaming, analytics and overall coverage of home matches vastly improved. The improvement joins previous amelioration to the lighting and broadcast infrastructure at the UNF Tennis Complex.
"Adding PlaySight is another step towards making this [UNF Tennis Complex] one of the premier facilities in college tennis," head men's tennis coach Matt Lucas said. "We have been working on this for a bit and to see it come to fruition is so exciting for our players, coaches, administration and donors who have helped make this possible."
North Florida men's tennis' dual opener against Wofford Feb. 4 marked the inaugural PlaySight live stream for either of the programs. UNF women's tennis makes its debut on the platform in the home opener Feb. 25 against Auburn.
"The addition of PlaySight increases the exposure for UNF tennis as well as the whole university," Director of Athletics Nick Morrow said. "In addition to PlaySight, we have upgraded the facility lighting to LED, while also improving the broadcast infrastructure. Next month we will be replacing the existing scoreboard and adding individual court scoreboards. Our tennis programs have been very successful over the years and we are committed to providing the best resources in the ASUN so our teams can achieve new levels of success."
Those looking to watch can do so free of charge by making a PlaySight account. All home matches can be streamed on a web browser via your computer or through the PlaySight app on a phone.
"This is a very exciting addition for our tennis programs," head women's tennis coach Catherine Dunagan said. "Not only will PlaySight allow us the technology and data for player development, but families and friends will be able to watch matches live from anywhere."Â
A stationary camera at each court is located on the top of the fence behind the baseline on the sound end of courts one through six. In addition to providing a live streaming option for viewers, PlaySight keeps track of important measures of performance such as serve speed, ball rotation and other statistical metrics for the use of scouting and practice.
Those looking to watch streams through PlaySight will be able to access a stream of each court during UNF home matches.Â
North Florida men's and women's tennis has enjoyed great success. The two teams have combined for 29 conference titles and 11 conference players of the year. The men's program has tallied at least a .500 home record in every season since 1998, while the women are 49-11 over the past five years in home matches.Â

More From Coach Lucas
"There are numerous benefits that PlaySight will bring from recruiting, video analysis, live streaming and overall fan engagement. From anywhere in the world you will be able to watch matches, allowing families to feel like they're a part of their child's tennis journey. As coaches, the analytics and video analysis available is going to be an amazing asset as far as player development. The players we are bringing into this program want to be professionals, and resources we can add to aid them on this path mean the world to them. I cannot thank Director of Athletics Nick Morrow and all of our Osprey tennis donors enough for making this a reality. What an exciting time for North Florida tennis!"
More From Coach Dunagan
"We would not be able to accomplish this without the support of our administration and donors who have poured in the time and resources to get this up and running. PlaySight will certainly help our recruiting and fan experience. We are extremely grateful for Nick Morrow and the many donors who helped make this happen."
