
North Florida Athletics Names Mayo Clinic Official Healthcare Provider

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – University of North Florida Athletics announced a transformational collaboration with Mayo Clinic to be its Official Healthcare Provider on Monday.

The sponsorship will enhance medical care, resources and health services for University of North Florida student-athletes, while strengthening the long-standing connection between University of North Florida and one of the nation's leading healthcare institutions. The collaboration will offer University of North Florida world-class clinical services and medical coverage for its coaches and student-athletes.Â

Through the sponsorship, University of North Florida student-athletes will benefit from Mayo Clinic's expertise – ranging from weekly onsite clinics within our University of North Florida Athletic Training facilities to comprehensive medical coverage at home competitions.

"With Mayo Clinic as the Official Healthcare Provider of University of North Florida Athletics, our student-athletes and staff will benefit from onsite clinical services and access to Mayo Clinic's sports medicine and orthopedic care," Senior Associate Athletic Director/Chief Medical Officer Fred Burnett said. "Dr. Kristina DeMatas serves as Head Team Physician, and Dr. Matthew Crowe leads orthopedic care. Through weekly onsite clinics in the University of North Florida Athletic Training Facility, comprehensive event coverage for home competitions, and direct access to Mayo Clinic's world-class network for advanced evaluations, diagnostics, and procedures, our student-athletes are supported at every stage of their career."
