UNF Scores Three Unanswered Goals, Outshoots Stetson 18-2
DELAND, Fla. -Â North Florida women's soccer put up a dominant display, scoring three unanswered goals with each being tallied by a different player as the Ospreys (2-5-1, 1-2-0Â ASUN) cruised to a 3-1 victory at Stetson (5-6-1, 2-1-1 ASUN), Sunday, Sept. 25.
Zara Siassi, Gabby Daly and Allie Fekany were the goal scorers Sunday night, while Sofia Miliancano took home the win in goal with a 90-minute effort.
The Hatters posted a long-range goal just ten minutes into the first half to take an early lead. The Ospreys earned the equalizer in the 26th minute on a free kick from Erin Jones, headed home from Zara Siassi.
The Ospreys continued their momentum in the second half as Haynes Grant picked up Gabby Daly who controlled the ball magnificently and calmly finished to give UNF the advantage.Â
In the 68th minute, Allie Fekany was brought down in the box, creating a penalty kick opportunity. Kayla Bond stepped up to take the penalty, although her penalty was saved, but Stetson keeper Sarah Grimmett came off her line before the shot was taken resulting in a retake. Allie Fekany confidently took the penalty and slotted it into the left corner to give the Ospreys a 3-1 lead.Â
