Cross Country and Track and Field Student-Athlete Picks Up Second Team Honors
GREENWOOD, Ind. - Three-time College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) All-District honoree, Nathan Jubran, finally reached the next echelon as he was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-American Second Team as announced by the national organization Wednesday, June 22.
Jubran was named to the CoSIDA All-District Team in 2019-20, 2020-21 and 2021-22. With his second team all-american recognition, Jubran is the first Osprey to reach all-american status for the UNF men's cross country or men's track and field team since Aaron Cuny was recognized in 2001.
"Nathan has continued to work hard in the classroom semester after semester. He is truly a student-athlete who has prepared himself well for a bright future," said head coach Jeff Pigg.
He is just the third student-athlete between the men's cross country and track and field programs to earn all-american recognition. The Jacksonville, Fla., native is the only Men's Cross Country and Track and Field CoSIDA All-American honoree from the ASUN during the 2021-22 year.
Jubran carries a 3.99 GPA in psychology, having earned his bachelor's degree with intentions of attending law school.
Just this past year, Jubran helped the cross country program to a 2021 ASUN title, while earning ASUN Most Outstanding Track Athlete and ASUN Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors. He also earned first team all-conference recognition for the 3000m and 5000m.
The graduate of local Bishop Kenny HS qualified for the 2020 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships and touts UNF records in cross country, indoor track and field and outdoor track and field.Â
A backbone for the North Florida cross country and track and field programs, Jubran has earned over 35 individual honors in addition to multiple team titles.
Undoubtedly, Jubran will go down as one of the greatest in program history and in North Florida Athletics Department history for his performance on the course, on the track and in the classroom.
