Cestero to Represent Puerto Rico in NORCECA Final Four Tournament

First Match Begins Tonight at 9 P.M. EST
NOGALES, Sonora (Mexico) - North Florida volleyball's Solimar Cestero begins play tonight in the North, Central and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation (NORCECA) Women's Final Four qualification tournament. The four-year letterwinner will be representing her home country of Puerto Rico in the qualification tournament.
The first of three matches in the round robin tournament is set for tonight at 9 p.m. EST as Puerto Rico takes on Cuba. Cestero and Puerto Rico will also face Costa Rica and Mexico Saturday and Sunday respectively.Â
Match Times & Opponents (for Puerto Rico)
The top team in the pool advances to compete in the Federation of International Volleyball (FIVB) Final Challenger Cup. The winner of that will move on to the 2023 International Volleyball Nations League.Â

Cestero will wear number 7, the same jersey number she has worn during the 2019, spring 2021 and fall 2021 seasons. The Toa Baja, P.R., native is the third youngest member of the Puerto Rican roster.Â
In four seasons with UNF, Cestero has totaled 1,051 kills, 323 digs, 173 blocks and 115 matches played. She has been named to the 2019 All-ASUN Second Team, 2018 ASUN All-Freshman Team and the 2021 ASUN Championship All-Tournament team.
