Women’s Tennis Falls at No. 40 UNC Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - North Florida women's tennis' tough February and early March slate continued Saturday as the Ospreys (5-7) fell on the road to No. 40 Charlotte (10-2). Kit Gulihur continued her winning ways, extending her singles winning streak to five matches.

How it Happened
Charlotte won doubles, getting a quick win at the third slot before edging Kit Gulihur and Ana Paula Melilo at the top slot. It was the first loss for the UNF doubles duo since the pair lost to No. 15 Reilly Tran and Alle Sanford of UNC Chapel Hill Oct. 7, 2021.
Charlotte got out to a 3-0 lead with quick wins at the sixth and second slots. Gulihur gave North Florida some life, defeating No. 87 Margaux Maquet, 6-1, 6-2. The final three courts were anybody's to win. Summer Yardley and Anslee Long went to three sets respectively, but came up short. The 49ers clinched it at the four slot after Rocio Saftont edged Isabel Oliveira, 7-6 (7-3), 6-3.
