Cai Cards Career-Best Score in Second Round

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - No. 54 North Florida women's golf turned in a second-place finish after two rounds of play at the Chattanooga Classic on Monday evening. The Ospreys will head into the final round of play down two strokes to No. 57 UTSA in a 20-team field.

The Ospreys had three golfers shoot a score at par or better in the second round. Jessie Cai led the group with her career-best round of 4-under 68, while Mindy Herrick and Sara McKevitt posted phenomenal rounds of 2-under 70 and even-par 72 respectively.

- Cai recorded her second-career round in the 60s on Monday after turning in six birdies to sit tied for ninth at 1-over combined.
- She is also tied for fourth in average par-three scores (2.90, 1-under) and in average par-four scores (3.88, 2-under).
- Herrick had an electric start to the back nine in the second round with birdies in three of the first four holes to jump to even-par through two rounds and tied for seventh.
- McKevitt stays steady for the Ospreys with another even-par day that included four straight birdies from holes 8-11 to join Herrick tied for seventh.
- She also holds the sole lead for the best average par-four score (3.69, 5-under) through the first two rounds.
- Christin Eisenbeiss is the fourth Osprey to sit in the top 12 after day two with the help of her second round score of 2-over 74, while Daniela Gonzalez finished with another 4-over 76 round to bring her at 8-over 152 combined.
- The Ospreys are the only team through two rounds with three players in the top 10 and four players in the top 12 on the leaderboard.
- UNF stays in the lead for total birdies with 36 total and average par-four score at 3-under, while also being in second for average par-five score at 4-over.
