Women’s Basketball Bests Bellarmine With Balanced Performance

Four Score in Double Figures, Jaida Bond Tallies Season High and Sister Jazz Reaches 1,500 Points
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Four Ospreys reached double-digit points, UNF outscored Bellarmine by 24 in bench points and the Bond sisters each had milestone mornings as North Florida women's basketball (11-12, 4-7 ASUN) dispatched Bellarmine (3-19, 0-11 ASUN), 85-63, Wednesday, Feb. 9.
Jaida Bond put up a season-high 18 points, all off the bench, thanks to three three-pointers and a perfect day from the free throw line. Sister Jazz Bond put up 15 points, seven rebounds and four assists while eclipsing 1,500-career points for her UNF tenure.
Emma Broermann notched 13 points and Rhetta Moore joined the double-digit scoring brigade with 16 points, five rebounds and three steals. UNF outscored Bellarmine, 40-22, in the paint and 28-4 in bench points.
The Ospreys led for over 36 minutes and took advantage of 19 Bellarmine turnovers, scoring 32 points off Bellarmine miscues. Eight different Ospreys had assists, helping UNF reach the 20-team assist benchmark.Â
UNF shot 13-for-14 from the line, good for tied-for-fifth in UNF single game history for free throw percentage with at least 10 attempts taken in a game.

- First Quarter: UNF shot 7-for-14 from the field and Rhetta Moore put up five points, but Bellarmine's Jaela Johnson had nine of the Knights' 18 points to keep the visitors within two points at the end of the first.
- Second Quarter: Jazz Bond went on her own 5-0 run in the second quarter, putting UNF ahead, 27-22 … UNF ushered Bellarmine into six turnovers in the second quarter alone, closing the half with a 36-30 lead … the Ospreys' largest lead all game up to that point was an eight point advantage at 36-28 … North Florida shot 14-for-31 from the floor in the first half … both teams combined to go 12-for-12 from the line.
- Third Quarter: The third quarter was key as the Ospreys established themselves with a comfortable lead … UNF led by as many as 19 during the quarter, going 5-for-9 from three-point range .. - Fourth Quarter: The Ospreys outscored Bellarmine, 26-19, in the fourth quarter, Jaida Bond reached a season high for points after tallying six more and Tatiana Thompson contributed six more as North Florida ran away with it.
