Thurston Named to All-South Region Second Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - North Florida women's soccer's Allyna Thurston was named to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I All-South Region Second Team as released by the national organization.

Thurston is first-time honoree by the United Soccer Coaches Organization. With her recognition, North Florida has had at least one honoree on the all-region squad in six consecutive seasons. Thurston joins current and former teammates, Thais Reiss, Ari Munoz and Zara Siassi as honorees.

This past season, Thurston was recognized with ASUN Third Team honors, making 11 starts while logging 90 minutes in five contests during ASUN play alone. The back was a force against opposing offenses, helping produce seven clean sheets while keeping opponents from scoring a single goal at Hodges Stadium all season.

The Casselberry, Fla., native also has a 2021 ASUN All-Freshman honor under her belt after playing in 12 contests in her first year. The rangy back has logged 1,756 minutes in her two seasons, accruing 28 games played and 18 starts.
