Aidan O'Gorman Finishes Top Ten Time at Eighth Overall
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - North Florida men's cross country ran well among the best runners in the conference to finish fourth overall at the ASUN Championship on Saturday morning. The Ospreys have now placed among the top four teams at the ASUN meet for nine consecutive seasons, in what was the largest and most competitive conference race to date.
Aidan O'Gorman ran the top time for the Ospreys with an eighth-place individual finish, clocking in at 23:47.7. His time beats his personal-best mark by four seconds, while also beating his own program record from earlier this season for fastest 8k race in program history.
The senior from New Smyrna Beach, Fla., now has four consecutive top-10 placements in each of his 8k races this season. His record time on Saturday gives him three of the top four 8k times on the season, joining his marks from the Gans Creek Classic and the Crimson Classic.
UNF narrowed out Bellarmine and Central Arkansas to place inside the top four as a team with six runners inside the top 50 individuals. Three runners also join O'Gorman scoring among the top 25, as Timothy Doyle and Robert Pedroza both ran just over 24 minutes.

FINISH LINE
- O'Gorman started off the race in 20th at the 1.6k checkpoint, but continued to make progress throughout the race to move up to finish eighth overall.
- Doyle had his best finish on the team right behind O'Gorman, as he ran a consistent race with a personal-best 8k time of 24:17.9 to take 22nd.
- Pedroza also ran a stellar 8k race clocking in at 24:28.3 to be the third Osprey to score inside the top 25.
- Graduate transfer Macauley Franks made his ASUN Championship debut with a time of 24:45.8 that put him among the top 35 runners in the conference.
- Onix Ortiz turned in a time that placed him just outside the top 40, as he was a few seconds off his lifetime best at 24:58.1.
- Aiden Arnold was the sixth Osprey to place inside the top 50, as he finished at 50th right on the dot with a time of 25:16.3.
- Jared Vazquez, a veteran leader for UNF, raced his final conference meet with a 25:30.4 8k time that places him just outside the top 50.
- Cole Perry was the top freshman runner for the Ospreys at 25:33.7, while Gavin O'Brien rounded out the nine-man group at 26:27.8.
- Four UNF runners placed inside the top 35 individuals, as well as eight runners inside the top 60 overall.
