
HOOP SCOOP: Ospreys Host Hatters in ASUN Men's Basketball Home Opener

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- UNF men's basketball continues its stretch of games in the Sunshine State with the ASUN home opener against Stetson tomorrow at 5 p.m. from the UNF Arena.Â

-UNF and Stetson meet for the 35th time in series history.Â

Forward Jadyn Parker went off for seven blocks in UNF's 92-44 win against Trinity Baptist Dec. 18. Parker tied the UNF single game blocks record with that performance, becoming the third such Osprey to reach that mark. UNF had nine blocks in that game, two short of the UNF single game team record.
Jadyn Parker is third in the league in blocks/game (1.92) and is 51st in the country. His 25 blocks are good for 2nd in the league and 50th in the country.
HOME COOKIN'Â
UNF is a perfect 4-0 at home this season. The Ospreys are scoring 97.3 points per game at home while holding other teams to just 57 points. Jose Placer has scored 16.8 points per contest, while Jady Parker is averging 10.8 points, 7.8 rebounds and 4.3 blocks per contest.

The Birds of Trey are living up to the moniker yet again in 2021-22. UNF is 23rd in the nation for three-point field goals attempted (396), 19th for three-pointers per contest (10.1) and 19th in total three-pointers made (119).Â
MILESTONE WATCH
- Hendricksen scored 16 points in UNF's game at FGCU last Wednesday. He became the 18th Osprey to do so in program history. He needs just two boards for 500 for his career, which would make him the 10th player in program history to reach both.
- With 196 wins at UNF, head coach Matthew Driscoll moved into third place for wins among ASUN men's basketball coaches in the history of the league.
THE GAUNTLET
UNF played one of the toughest schedules in the nation to start the season, opening with consecutive games at Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Grand Canyon, Arizona State and UCLA. Since then, UNF also faced No. 10 Kentucky and No. 20 Florida.Â
All-told, UNF has played 10 of 14 games on the road.Â

-The Hatters are 6-8 and 0-1 in league play after suffering a 16-point home loss to Liberty in the ASUN opener.
-The Hatters are 1-5 in road contests, with their lone road victory coming at Lamar Nov. 19.
-Stetson's Christiaan Jones was named ASUN Player of the Week earlier this year, the team's lone ASUN weekly honor on the year.
-Rob Perry surpassed the 1,000-career point milestone earlier on the season.
-Stetson has stayed out of foul trouble this season, committing just 187 fouls, the second fewest in the league and 44th fewest in the nation.
-Chase Johnston has put up 116 three-pointers, the 12th most in NCAA Division I men's basketball. He's converted 45 of them, the 17th most in DI ball.
-Head Coach Donnie Jones is in his third season leading the Hatters. He took over at the start of the 2018-19 season. He spent six seasons as the head coach at UCF.

FORT MYERS, Fla. -Â Despite the Ospreys being down important pieces on their roster and having not played a game since Dec. 18, North Florida men's basketball was even, 60-60, at FGCU (11-4, 1-0 ASUN) before the Eagles were able to pull away late.
