1/27/2022 7:52:00 PM | Women's Basketball
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - In a game of runs that saw both teams post a double-digit scoring run, it was Central Arkansas' (8-10, 3-4 ASUN) run that decided the game as North Florida women's basketball (9-10, 2-5 ASUN) had a two-game winning streak snapped in a 56-53 loss to UCA Thursday, Jan. 27 from the UNF Arena.Â
It was the first meeting between UNF and UCA, and the first matchup as ASUN foes.Â
North Florida led for just shy of 29 minutes Thursday night, although UCA outscored North Florida 35-20 in the second half and 22-7 in the third quarter.Â
UNF blocked nine shots as a team, good for one short of the UNF single game team record.
North Florida scored to get the game within three points with five seconds remaining before stealing the ensuing inbound. A last second three-pointer came up short as UCA hung on.

- Second Quarter: Broermann continued to dominate down low, posting seven points on 3-for-5 shooting as the Ospreys closed the session up 12 … the Ospreys had five blocks at the break, three coming from Jazz Bond … North Florida led for 18 minutes and 26 seconds of the opening half, leading by as many as 17 in the first half.
