Munoz Named to United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America Team

Osprey also collected South Region Scholar Team honors
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- United Soccer Coaches announced the association's 2020-21 Women's Scholar All-America Teams and Scholar All-Region Teams for NCAA Division I and North Florida's Ari Munoz was named a second-team All-America and All-Region performer.
Munoz, a newcomer to the Osprey lineup, was a  first-team All-ASUN selection this season while also earning All-South Region first-team accolades. Munoz was tied for second on the squad with three goals and two assists.
In the classroom, Munoz boasted a 3.93 GPA as a junior health science major at North Florida.

"I am so thrilled to see Ari's selections as a United Soccer Coaches Scholar All American and All Region honoree. To me, this is the highest honor a student-athlete can receive from our coaches organization. Balancing the rigors of academics and athletics is not easy. To excel both on the field and in the classroom at a very high level is a credit to Ari and her commitment to excellence. She is a leader by example in our program and I am proud to be her coach."

To be eligible for Scholar All-America recognition, student-athletes must meet the following criteria:
- 3.40 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) or better throughout career
- Started more than 50 percent of all games (minimum of seven games) during the season of nomination and be an elite player as supported by playing honors (ie. all-conference) and/or contributions to their team.Â
- Nominated by head coach of current College Services member institution
