FIRST TEE — A back nine charge by freshman Nick Gabrelcik came up just short of an ASUN medalist title, while No. 18 ranked North Florida men's golf posted a fourth-place finish Tuesday in the ASUN Championship at the UGA Golf Course.

ROUND REFLECTIONS
- Freshman Nick Gabrelcik, the No. 2 ranked golfer in the nation, earned a runner-up finish in his ASUN Championship debut closing the event out with a 1-under 70 | Gabrelcik posted under-par scores in all three rounds of the championship
- He played his final round front nine in 3-over but rallied with a 4-under back nine that included birdies in four of his final six holes to end his day as the leader in the clubhouse | FGCU's Van Holmgren birdied the 18th hole to edge Gabrelcik for the medalist crown by a single stroke
- Senior Nick Infanti birdied three of his final holes including back-to-back birdies to close his round at 1-under 70
- North Florida finished the tournament with 165 pars led by 36 for Infanti
- Gabrelcik led the field with 16 birdies, helping the Ospreys to a total of 45 for the event

"Nick (Gabrelcik) made a nice run at the win but came up just short. This was a disappointing week for us as a group. We have a long break until we play at Regionals. It will be important to have some competitive qualifying as we get ready."
