FIRST TEE — No. 18 ranked North Florida men's golf struggled in the opening round at the ASUN Championship finding themselves in fifth-place following a 4-over par performance. Freshman Nick Gabrelcik carded a 3-under 68 to lead the Ospreys.

ROUND REFLECTIONS
- Freshman Nick Gabrelcik, the No. 2 ranked golfer in the nation, was the lone Osprey under-par in the opening round finishing with a 3-under 68 to be in a tie for 5th
- Marked the 13th round in the 60s for Gabrelcik this season
- Fellow freshman Robbie Higgins shot a 1-over 72 (T13) in his ASUN Championship debut while senior Nick Infanti had a 2-over 73 (T16) to give UNF three golfers in the Top 20
- North Florida concluded the opening round with 53 pars led by 13 from Higgins
- UNF collected 14 birdies paced by Nick Gabrelcik's 5, which ranked 2nd in the field
- Gabrelcik shared the tournament lead in Par 3 scoring, playing the holes in 1-under (2.75 avg)
