"Disappointing result for sure. We had a great week of training and felt prepared. In the first 10 minutes, we scored a goal they called offsides. I thought we outplayed them early and then they scored on a set piece and changed the game. The second goal hurt us and we defended the moment poorly and FGCU took their chance well. We regrouped after the half and came out and took it to them. I felt we dominated most of the second half aside from a few moments. Up a man we scored to make it 2-1 and I felt we had them in a good position to get the equalizer with all the momentum and gave up a poor PK that he finished well making it 3-1. As a group time to refocus and stay process oriented for the local rival and a chance to finally play at our home field at Hodges versus JU." - head coach Derek Marinatos

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the early goings of the game, North Florida had a goal called back due to offside.
- FGCU produced four shots in the first half but capitalized on the two that were on frame. In the 21st minute, FGCU sent a free-kick into the box, which was headed in by Trevin Myers. Ethan Dudley who had his first shot blocked, but he got the rebound to put the Eagles up 1-0.
- Less than 10 minutes later, FGCU made it a 2-0 contest. Jahvanie Hammond slipped a pass to Marcos De Paz who tucked it in to the near post.
- Both teams got anything going in the second half, but the Ospreys capitalized on a double yellow and went a man-up for the game.
- The Ospreys turned it into a one-goal game in 77th minute when Bryson Smith scored his first goal of the season. Cormac Begley sent a pass into the box with the ball bouncing around inside before Smith slid it past the Eagle keeper to the left side.
- FGCU went out in front again when UNF was called for a foul in the box and the Eagles successfully converted the penalty kick.
