COURSE REPORT: North Florida women's cross country team finished within the top 10 at the Gans Creek Classic headlined by a top-50 individual finish by sophomore Mia McLain.

The Ospreys finished over Northern Iowa, Saint Louis, and Creighton at the meet this Friday morning and had all five of their qualifying runners place within the top 65 individuals.

FINISH LINE

- Mia McLain was the top runner for the Ospreys in Missouri with a 46th-place finish and a personal-best 6k time of 22:24.6.
- Senior Camryn Cooney returned for her first meet of the season on Friday morning after missing the FSU XC Open, as she ran a time of 22:30.9 and placed 52nd in the race.
- Senior Sadie McLaughlin improved by almost 20 spots at the halfway mark, as she went from 75th at the 3k checkpoint to finish 57th with a personal-best time of 22:42.1.
- Sophomore Billie Castillo also ran a personal-best time of 22:47.3 with a top-60 individual finish in the race.
- Senior Raquel Lespasio placed 64th overall in the race after finishing as the top runner for the Ospreys at the FSU XC Open earlier this season.

"Overall, we had a really good performance. It was a better day and we looked strong. You could see the growth that we've had in the past couple weeks. You can see the girls running better with more confidence and more fitness. We're certainly trending in the right direction. The whole group did a nice job and it was a nice meet for us.
