GREENVILLE, N.C. - The North Florida men's basketball team will make its third trek to the state of North Carolina this season as the Ospreys visit East Carolina at 5 p.m. on Thursday (Dec. 10).

1. REWIND
Making their 2020 home debut, North Florida battled down to the wire with visiting FAU but saw its game tying shot fall short at the buzzer in a hard fought 79-77 loss on Monday night | Jose Placer paced the Ospreys finishing with 20 points, marking his first 20-point effort of his UNF career and second in his college playing days | Emmanuel Adedoyin posted career highs in scoring (15 pts) and assists (8), while hitting 5 treys | Dorian James also netted a career best with 14 points | Ospreys hit a season best 15 three-pointers in the game

2. #BIRDSofTREY
With 391 3PM last season, UNF led the nation from beyond the arc for the second time in program history (2016 was the other season) | The Ospreys posted double digit 3PM in 25 games and averaged a nation's best 11.8 threes per game | This season, North Florida owns double digit 3PM outputs in 4 of 6 contests including a season high 15 versus FAU | All 12 players that have played this season have attempted a trey with 11 different players making one

3. CAROLINA ON MY MIND
In an odd scheduling quirk, North Florida's non-conference ledger includes games played in just two states: Florida and North Carolina | Ospreys opened the year in Raleigh (N.C.) followed by a trip to Miami (Fla.) and Tallahassee (Fla.) before returning to the Tar Heel State in High Point (N.C.) | After a home game, UNF hit the road again to Carolina in Greenville (N.C.) before finishing the 2020 calendar with games at home and in Gainesville (Fla.)

4. PRESEASON PICKING
The league's coach's poll and media poll both tabbed the Ospreys to finish 4th in the conference | North Florida junior Carter Hendricksen was a unanimous choice for preseason All-Conference after finishing his sophomore campaign ranked amond the league leaders in scoring and rebounding

5. HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS
After playing 7 of its first 9 games away from UNF Arena, the Ospreys will close 2020 with home games in 3 of their final 4 | North Florida hosts FIU (Dec. 12) before visiting Florida (Dec. 16) and ending the year welcoming Flagler (Dec. 19) and Edward Waters (Dec. 21) to campus

SCOUTING EAST CAROLINA
- East Carolina is 4-0 this season with the UNF game marking their fourth home game in a row
- The Pirates top performer this year has been Jayden Gardner with 20.3 PPG and 7.0 RPG | Bitumba Baruti is also averaging double digits at 10.0 PPG
- ECU is coached by a familiar face in Joe Dooley, the former FGCU head coach | Dooley posted a 10-3 mark against the Ospreys in his five years with the Eagles

UP NEXT
North Florida makes a quick turnaround as the Ospreys welcome in-state rival FIU to UNF Arena on Saturday (Dec. 12) at 5 p.m.
