JACKSONVILLE - North Florida men's basketball concludes its abbreviated non-conference schedule with a pair of home games against area foes beginning Saturday against Flagler (5 p.m.) followed by a Monday clash with Edward Waters (7 p.m.)


1. REWIND
North Florida ended its season-opening skid with a hard fought 80-77 victory over in-state foe FIU on Saturday  in UNF Arena | Dorian James scored a career best 19 points in leading a quartet of starters in double-digits | Jose Placer added 18 points followed by freshman Jonathan Aybar's personal best 17 and Emmanuel Adedoyin with 13 | James also paced the Ospreys in rebounding with 7 boards | UNF made a season low 6 three-pointers but shot 52% from the floor for the game and collected a season high 7 blocked shots | Win marked the first of the year for North Florida

2. #BIRDSofTREY
#BirdsofTrey led the country with 391 3PM and netted double figure 3PM totals in 13 games last season | Ospreys have tallied 10+ treys in 4 games this season including season best 15 vs FAU | UNF has made 77 treys this year (8th in nation) | All 12 UNF players that have playe this season have attempted a three-pointer with 11 owning a made trey | Also led nation in 3PM in 2016

3. NEW HEIGHTS
This year's Osprey roster is the tallest in program history averaging just under 6'6 as a team | UNF has no players listed under 6-foot

4. PRESEASON PICKING
The league's coach's poll and media poll both tabbed the Ospreys to finish 4th in the conference | North Florida junior Carter Hendricksen was a unanimous choice for preseason All-Conference after finishing his sophomore campaign ranked amond the league leaders in scoring and rebounding

5. NON-DI OPPONENTS
Ospreys will be playing their 23rd & 24th non-D1 opponents in the Driscoll Era with the team boasting an undefeated 22-0 mark to this point | Ospreys have hit triple digits in 8 of their last 11 vs Non DI foes


SCOUTING FLAGLER
- Flagler is officially 1-1 on the season but have also played three exhibition games for a 1-4 mark
- FC is coming off a 103-81 loss at South Alabama in an exhibition game on Wednesday night
- Team is coached by fourth-year mentor Chad Warner | Warner is a 1998 graduate of Georgia and owns a 32-53 record at Flagler and 188-144 as a head coach
- Jaizec Lottie is the Saints top scorer at 24.5 PPG while Jalen Barr averages a double-double with 10.5 PPG and 10.0 RPG
- Flagler, located in St. Augustine, Fla., is a Division II program in the Peach Belt Conference

SCOUTING EDWARD WATERS
- Edward Waters is 3-0 this season with a pair of victories against Webber International and a 109-53 win over Pensacola Christian on Thursday (Dec. 17)
- The Tigers are led in scoring by Maurice Johnson at 21.0 PPG | Knowledge Darby averages a double-double with 15.0 PPG and 10.5 RPG
- Head coach Fredrick Summers is in his third season at the helm and owns a 28-31 mark for EWC
- Edward Waters is an NAIA HBCU located in downtown Jacksonville | Tigers have announced plans to move to NCAA DII 


UP NEXT
Following a brief holiday break from competition, North Florida turns its attention to ASUN play in the New Year, opening its league ledger with back-to-back games at Stetson on Jan. 1-2. Ospreys tip off their home ASUN schedule against Kennesaw State on Jan. 8-9.
