JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - UNF men's tennis' 2020 recruiting class got one signee stronger in the addition of Breno Marques as announced by coaches Matt Lucas and Bart Van Leijsen.
Marques will be a freshman this upcoming fall and brings extensive experience from tournaments throughout South and North America.
The Natal, Brazil, native touts an 18U title and will join the team for the fall 2020 campaign and intends to major in economics.
Marques is the first Brazilian on the UNF men's tennis roster since Bernardo Craveiro in 2015.
Head Coach Matt Lucas on the Signing
"When coach Van Leijsen and I first started recruiting Breno we immediately realized his passion, spirit, and desire to improve. These are fundamentals of being an Osprey men's tennis player, and we couldn't be more excited to be adding him to our 2020 recruiting class. It was very clear to us that his best tennis is in front of him, and we are excited to help him on his journey to becoming a professional tennis player. I know he will exhaust all the resources this school and program can afford him in maximizing his time at UNF. That is what it is all about as coaches, recognizing those special individuals who not only say they want to be elite, but are willing to put in the time to make it happen! Welcome to UNF, Breno! SWOOP!" -- Head coach Matt Lucas
