Against The Opponent
  • UNF has not played more games against one team than its 91 contests against the Owls.
  • The Ospreys lead the all-time series, 47-44.
  • The two teams have met 37 times as ASUN foes, with KSU leading those games, 24-13.
  • North Florida is 25-19 against KSU in games at home.
  • Their first meeting was in 1988.
  • UNF was swept at KSU last season, but took its meeting in the ASUN Championship, 7-1.

North Florida (28-20, 9-8 ASUN)
  • UNF is coming off a 13-7 victory against Florida A&M, completing a season-series sweep of the Rattlers after the Ospreys took all three of their meetings in Jacksonville during the last weekend in April.
  • North Florida completed its non-conference slate Tuesday, finishing the season 19-12 in non-conference contests.
  • North Florida is tied-for-fourth in the ASUN, knotted up with Stetson at 9-8.
  • The Ospreys are three wins shy of 200 wins against ASUN opponents during regular season competition.
  • North Florida is 21-10 at home this season. The Ospreys have won at least 20 home games six of the last 10 seasons, doing so every year since going 15-8 in 2014. This weekend series against Kennesaw State completes UNF's non-conference slate for the year.

Last Time Out
TALLAHASSEE, Fla.Tanner Murphy had a historic day, walking five times while stealing four bases as the Ospreys (28-20) downed FAMU, 13-7, May 7 from the Moore-Kittles Baseball Complex in Tallahassee, Fla.

Murphy's stat line was remarkable to say the least, scoring four times despite tallying only one at-bat in six plate appearances. His five walks set a UNF program single game record while his four stolen bases set a UNF DI mark, tying the program record for a single game.

Prolific Pitchers
  • UNF's starting pitching was stellar last weekend. Between Brad Deppermann, Nick Marchese and Brandon Reitz the Osprey starters turned in 22.2 innings, allowing only six earned while striking out 19.
  • The Ospreys have permitted only 159 walks in 421.1 innings pitched, the fewest walks of any pitching staff in the ASUN.
  • North Florida's team-ERA ia 3.93, the second-lowest ERA in the ASUN. Liberty and UNF are the only two ASUN teams to have a sub-4.00 ERA.
  • Osprey pitchers have secured 15 saves this season, the most of any UNF team in its DI days, breaking the previous record of 13 for one season set back in 2007.
  • Brad Deppermann is 32nd in the nation and second in the ASUN in strikeouts (89).
*As of May 3
•79th - WHIP (1.40)
•73rd - K/BB Ratio (2.21)
•44th - Walks/Nine Innings (3.47)
•42nd - ERA (3.86)

Highway Robbery
  • Redshirt-senior Wes Weeks recorded two stolen bases this past weekend at Lipscomb. Weeks now has 31 steals for his career, tying him with Garrick Ferguson (2011-15) for second all-time in UNF's DI history.
  • This season Weeks is 16-21 in stolen base attempts, making him the conference leader in stolen bags. His 16 steals are tied-for-third all-time in single season history for UNF's DI days. Ironically Wes is knotted up with Drew Weeks. His brother swiped 16 in 2013.
  • Tanner Murphy is 15-for-20 in stolen bases attempts, giving him 34 for his career, second-most in UNF's DI days. The junior set the UNF DI single game stolen base record at FAMU Tuesday, swiping four bags. He tied Brian Strubb (1992) and Joby Birr (1994) for the most in program history for a single game.

Walkathon
  • Senior Chris Berry set the UNF Division I career record for free passes April 20 at North Alabama, and since then he hasn't stopped.
  • The third baseman is currently second in the league in free passes (37), possessing only three fewer walks than Liberty's Jonathan Embry who has had 18 more at-bats and played in four more games.
  • Berry is only six walks shy of setting the UNF DI single season record for free passes. T.J. Thompson has the current record, set in 2009. The Seminole, Fla., native is sixth in the league in on-base percentage (.433).
  • Tanner Murphy got in on the free-base fun at FAMU Tuesday. The St. Augustine, Fla., native drew five walks in six plate appearances, setting a new program record for free passes in a game. He went on to score four runs for the Ospreys.

Senior Send Off
UNF is honoring its nine senior student-athletes and one student manager, Garrett Gastfield, prior to Saturday's game. Seniors Chris Berry, Brad Deppermann, Alex Hendricks, Nick Marchese, Ethan Michaelis, Trace Norkus, Jay Prather, Alex Reynolds and Wes Weeks will all be recognized.

Doppleganger
  • Austin Hurwitz and Tanner Clark are both juniors. They hit lefty and they catch, and this season they've split time behind home - their statistics are almost as similar.
  • Clark and Hurwitz make up two of UNF's three hitters batting above .300.
  • Clark has only one fewer run and two fewer hits.
  • They've both collected five doubles and 18 RBI.
  • Clark has just one more total base than Hurwitz.
  • Their biggest disparity comes in their strikeout/walk ratio. Clark has fanned only five times, while Hurwitz has fanned 19. Hurwitz has walked 17 times to Clark's 11.

Kennesaw State | Stats | Schedule | Roster
  • The Owls are currently seventh in the ASUN at 8-10 in conference play.
  • Kennesaw State is one of 11 teams in the nation to have played on every day of the week.
  • KSU is 31st in the nation in sacrifice bunts, putting down 33.
  • Skipper Mike Sansing recently won his 1,000th game.
  • Jake Franklin earned the most recent ASUN Player of the Week honor after belting three homers and driving in eight.
  • KSU is 3-14 on the road.
