Setting the Table
What: FAMU at UNF
Where: Harmon Stadium
When: Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28

Against The Opponent
  • UNF has dominated the all-time series, leading 22-2.
  • The Ospreys are a perfect 14-0 against the Rattlers in Jacksonville.
  • The two teams first met in 2006.
  • The Rattlers won the last meeting, 6-5, May 2, 2018.
  • North Florida swept a three-game series at home last year.

North Florida (27-13)
The Ospreys were on a season-long six game winning streak before having the run snapped with an 8-4 loss at North Alabama Saturday, April 20. A rain-soaked weekend in Florence, Ala., cut the three-game series against the Lions down to just two games. UNF returns home for four non-conference games beginning with three against FAMU and a single contests against UCF Tuesday.

It has just seven home contests left for the season, with one more ASUN series at Harmon Stadium awaiting the Ospreys when they host Kennesaw State May 10-12. UNF has done very well at Harmon this year, going 18-9 at the friendly confines.

Last Time Out
FLORENCE, Ala. - Tied 3-3 in the seventh, UNA (11-27)  spurned one run in the seventh followed by a four spot in the eighth to take the game, 8-4, stunting UNF's winning streak at a season-best six games.

The two teams were initially scheduled to play two games Saturday, although playing conditions were not suitable for first pitch of the first game of the twin bill initially slated for 10 a.m. (EST).

"Weeks"ly Winning
Three UNF pitchers have received ASUN Pitcher of the Week honors and three position players have garnered the player of the week honor, giving UNF a conference-best six weekly conference honorees this season. Wes Weeks is the most recent honoree for the Ospreys.

The redshirt-senior Wes Weeks earned ASUN Co-Player of the Week laurels after launching three roundtrippers in a 10-4 defeat of UNA April 18, becoming the first player in the program's Division I history to hit three home runs in one game. Ironically, the same day brother and former UNF standout, Drew Weeks, hit a home run for Triple - A Albuquerque. The last time an Osprey achieved such a feat was when Ryan Soehlig launched thre April 24, 2002, against Valdosta State. All told in the award-winning week, Weeks went 6-for-9 with three runs, seven RBI and two stolen bases.

Honorees
February 18 - RHP Max McKinley
February 25 - CF Tanner Murphy
March 4 - 2B Jay Prather
March 18 - RHP Nick Marchese
April 15 - RHP Brad Deppermann
April 22 - Wes Weeks (Co-Player)

1.9 Miles
Over his career at UNF, senior Chris Berry has done his fair share of walking. The Seminole, Fla., native became the UNF Division I leader in walks after collecting two free passes against North Alabama April 20. The senior has 114 walks for his career, surpassing 25 walks every season in Jacksonville.

Berry is one of UNF's hottest bats right now. He is hitting .400 (12-for-30) over his past eight contests, doubling three times, walking seven and reaching base at a clip of .526. All-told Berry has eight multi-walk games this season.

The Early Bird Gets the Run
North Florida is outscoring opponents 45-24 in the first inning this season, the largest run differential for any inning and the most positive run differential of any inning for the Ospreys this season.

In UNF's 23 wins the Ospreys have outscored opponents, 31-6, in the first inning. Overall the Ospreys are 14-7 when scoring in the first inning and 18-6 when scoring first.

Another Milestone
Redshirt-senior Brad Deppermann became the sixth UNF pitcher in the program's Division I history to eclipse 200 innings pitched for his career. He's currently 21.2 innings from tying the UNF Division I record and he is only five strikeouts away from setting the UNF Division I record for punchouts after fanning eight in his last start against North Alabama.

Deppermann has 205 strikeouts for his career, only four behind Kyle Westwood's 209.
