LYNCHBURG, Va. - David Maberry put UNF (16-14, 2-4 ASUN) on top with a two-out RBI double in the seventh, but Liberty (21-6, 5-1 ASUN) lifted a pair of solo home runs into a gusting wind in right as part of a five-run eighth to surmount their deficit and upend the Ospreys, 6-2, in the series finale Sunday, March 31.

Midweek Winning
North Florida is 5-2 in midweek games this season, defeating No. 3/5 Florida, FAU (twice), Bethune-Cookman and USF. The Ospreys have yet to lose a home-midweek game this season. Jay Prather is is hitting .414 (12-for-29) in these contests and pitchers have fanned 66 in 61.1 innings of work.

First Take
UNF loves swinging the bats in the first inning. The Ospreys have scored 35 runs in the first inning, more than in any other inning. 35 runs ties the mark for runs in the first inning last year.

Climbing to the Top
UNF has a trio of players eyeing school records for the university's Division I days. Senior Chris Berry has 104 walks, good for second. He needs 10 more free passes to become all-time leader. Junior Tanner Murphy has swiped eight bags this year, making him nine steals shy of the record. Redshirt-senior Brad Deppermann has fanned 180, placing him fourth all-time. He needs 30 more punchouts to tally the record.

Bethune-Cookman
  • The Wildcats are 9-20 and 3-6 in the MEAC.
  • BCU has been scuffling since facing the Ospreys March 12. It has gone 2-11 since that time, securing a win against Stetson and North Carolina A&T.
  • Brandon Wilkes and Nate Sterijevski are the lone Wildcats hitting above .300. They are hitting .312 and .315 respectively.
  • Teams have been running on the Wildcats. Opponents have swiped 71 bases this season.
  • Teams have hit 20 home runs against BCU this year. The pitching staff has a combined 6.03 ERA.
