Men's Soccer Finishes Strong Season

JACKSONVILLE - The 2019 season for North Florida men's soccer saw the team win an ASUN tournament game for the first time since 2015 and saw the Ospreys become a top defense in the nation.Â
In head coach Derek Marinatos' ninth season at the program's helm the Ospreys finished 6-8-2 including a 4-2-1 mark in ASUN Conference action. UNF finished the season third in the ASUN standings and qualified for the conference tournament for the sixth straight season.Â
One of the ASUN's top defensive teams, the Ospreys surrendered a league-low five goals in conference play.

LJ Estes-Â Â Captained the ASUN's top defense, earning ASUN Defensive Player of the Week and Second Team All-Conference. LJ led the team in tackles on the season.Â

LJ Estes-Â Â Captained the ASUN's top defense, earning ASUN Defensive Player of the Week and Second Team All-Conference. LJ led the team in tackles on the season.Â
Taylor Martin-Â Team captain - led the team in intercepted passes and air challenges. Martin led the team to the best defensive statistics in program history. He was also ranked top 5 in key passes and passing accuracy for the team.
Jake Hawker- Named Second Team All-Conference let the team in Goal and Assist Average per 90 minutes on the team. Hawker scored the game-winning goal in ASUN Quarterfinals in overtime.Â
Herbie Steigelman- Named to ASUN-All Freshman team. Steigelman was Top 5 on the team in successful challenges, tackles and air challenges.Â
Bendeguz Burka- Named to ASUN All-Freshman team. Burka Led the team in successful air challenges and top 5 for passing accuracy on the team.Â
Robbie Soronellas- Named to ASUN All-Freshman team. Soronellas had the ASUN goal of the week when scoring two goals against JU. He led the team in assists and accurate key passes.Â
Torian Went-Â Â Named to ASUN All-Academic team and CoSIDAÂ Academic All-Region Team. Named ASUN player of the week. Went helped the program to a 2016 ASUN regular season title.Â
Padriac Gilley-  Named ASUN Defensive Player of the Week. Posted the second best GAA in program history (1.09)
Adam Everett- Named ASUN Defensive player of the week. Everett let the team in accurate passes and was top 5 in the team for challenges and tackles won.Â
