The Leaderboard: Senior Travis Trace fired an opening round 6-under 66 helping himself and the North Florida men's golf team climb to the top of the round one leaderboards at the Shoal Creek Intercollegiate. Monday afternoon's second round was suspended halfway through the round due to a heavy thunderstorm and will resume on Tuesday morning.
FIRST TEE
- Travis Trace carded a bogey-free 6-under round of 66 in the morning session of the tournament
- Fellow senior Philip Knowles shot a 2-under 70 to rank in a tie for 5th
- Senior Jordan Batchelor also finished the first round in the Top 25, sitting tied for 22nd following a 1-over 73
- Junior Michael Mattiace with a 75 (T35) and senior Andrew Alligood with an 81 (T77) rounded out the Osprey lineup while redshirt freshman Jeff Doty posted a 79 (T69) playing as an individual in his collegiate debut
- The Ospreys opened the tournament with a 4-under 284 to hold a one-shot lead after the first round of play on Monday
- Prior to the stoppage in Monday's second round of play at 5 p.m., North Florida was in second at 5-under while Trace held a share of the medalist lead at 6-under and Knowles was T4 at 3-under
