Ospreys Drop Match To Middle Tennessee

Jacksonville, Fla. – North Florida men's tennis dropped a tight 4-3 match on Thursday evening to Middle Tennessee at the UNF Tennis Complex.
QUICK HITS
- North Florida got out to a 1-0 lead with the doubles point after Nilo Duarte and Alberto De Meo picked up a tight 7-5 win in the No. 3 position. Jefta Kecic and Lasse Muscheites also won at the No. 1 match.
- Sahil Deshmukh picked up a straight-set win to push the Ospreys lead out to 2-0.
- The Blue Raiders picked up the next three points to take a 3-2 lead in the match.Â
- In a second set tiebreak, Kecic tied the match up at three apiece.
- Muscheites battled to a third set after picking up a win in second set tiebreak, but came up short in the third and Middle Tennessee picked up the 4-3 win.Â
LUCAS SAYS
"Tough to see us take that loss tonight. The guys responded well after a poor showing Tuesday, but we came up a bit short. We had chances again, but we have to learn to play with leads a bit better. We will reset and train hard in preparation for the conference season upcoming. Big things are ahead of us. I know the guys are gutted from this loss, but now it's time to get excited for a tough conference schedule."

UNF takes almost two weeks off before hitting the road for its opening three ASUN matches beginning on March 24 at Stetson.
