THOUGHTS FROM THE TOP (Head Coach Jeff Pigg)
"The Ospreys did not let the weather or competition deter us as we established many lifetime bests and attained some East Regional qualifying marks. I am really proud of how well we performed. The Florida Relays always provide great competition and our kids stepped up and handled themselves very well."
"Noah Perkins ran a huge personal best in winning the second section of the 5000m. He ran with confidence and ease as he improved his lifetime best by 15 seconds and I am really proud of his performance. Nick Morken had a great race in the 1500m, running a time of 3:43 which will solidly qualify him for the East Regional. He looked great and competed very well. Tyler Stahl also ran a great race in the 1500m with a 3:47. He too competed well which will be a big boost for his confidence. Leo Queyrou ran a lifetime best in the 3000m Steeplechase, which is great for a freshman running that event for the first time."
"Claudia Jalon ran a lifetime best and a very calculated race. Her time will easily get her into the East Regional, which was our goal for this race. She ran a 4:21, which breaks the school record as well. Audrey Carpenter ran a lifetime best in the 3000m Steeplechase with an 11:03 and Hallie Grimes also ran a lifetime best in the 400m, executing a great race. She is on track to finish out her senior year strong. At the Raleigh Relays, Eden Meyer ran 34:19 in the 10k with a goal of getting a regional qualifying mark early in the season. It is a relief to have that goal achieved so early."
