STARTING BLOCK
The North Florida Track & Field men's kicked off their outdoor season on Friday in the Sheraton Spring Break Invitational at Hodges Stadium. Nick Morken led a collection of strong showings by claiming the title in the 1500m.

AROUND THE TRACK
- Running in the Invitational flights of the 1500m, Nick Morken ran an event-winning time of 3:46 highlighted by a strong closing 100m. Noah Perkins finished fourth in the race with a 3:53
- Chris Robin finished third in the 800m with a time of 1:52 while George Escobar notched a PR of 1:54 in the same event
- The Ospreys saw several freshman and newcomers to the program make their outdoor collegiate debuts

- Freshman Damian Lewis made his outdoor debut with a mark of 1.90m (6-02.75) in the high jump
THOUGHTS FROM THE TOP (Head Coach Jeff Pigg)
"It was a nice opener. The weather was beautiful and the kids competed very well. As most openers go, we had some good performances and it was a nice sign for things to come. It was a good starting point and now we just need to continue to make progress.
"Nick Morken topped a strong field in the 1500m. It was a good race and he is anxious to race again. Chris Robin ran a very strong 800m. He is a great competitor and continues to perform at a high level. George Escobar also ran a PR in the 800, finishing in a strong 1:54."
