The Leaderboard: The North Florida men's golf team vaulted to the top of the leaderboard at the Furman Intercollegiate following an opening round 10-under 278 on Friday at the Furman University Golf Course. Junior Philip Knowles paced a trio of Ospreys among the Top 5 individuals with a career low matching round of 66 (-6).
FIRST TEE
- Philip Knowles matched his career best round, shooting a 6-under 66 to claim the top spot in the individual medalist standings after round one
- Sophomore Michael Mattiace fired an opening 3-under 69 to end the day tied for second while junior Andrew Alligood notched a 2-under 70 to finish tied for fourth
- Freshman Michael Saccente is tied for 32nd after a first round 73 and junior Travis Trace rounds out the Osprey lineup in a T95 following a 79
- Playing as an individual, junior Jack Comstock shot a 79 and is tied with Trace for 95th
