The Leaderboard: The North Florida men's golf team carded rounds of 278-282 in opening day action at the SunTrust Gator Invitational on Saturday. Juniors Philip Knowles and Andrew Alligood shared team honors on day one sitting in a tie for sixth at 137.
FIRST TEE
- Junior Philip Knowles opened with a 3-under 67 followed by an even par 70 while fellow junior Andrew Alligood carded a pair of rounds in the 60s with a 69-68 to share team leading honors in a tie for sixth
- Junior Travis Trace joins his classmates in the Top 10, ranking T10th after rounds of 67-71
- Junior Jordan Batchelor is tied for 70th (75-73=148) and sophomore Michael Mattiace is tied for 77th (77-74=151) to round out the Osprey lineup
- Freshman Michael Saccente, competing as an individual, ended the day tied for 27th at 141 (72-69)
- UNF posted a 36-hole total of 560 and are tied for sixth in the team competition.

This is a team game and our number four and five guys played poorly. That is a bit disappointing as they had been playing well at home.
