LEADERBOARD: Led by Michael Mattiace, the only junior on the trip, the North Florida men's golf team rallied with a strong closing nine holes to move into the Top 10 after opening round play at the Ka'anapali Classic in Hawaii. Mattiace led a trio of golfers with under-par scores on Friday.
FIRST TEE
- Michael Mattiace carded a 3-under 68 to match his career collegiate low round and rank in a tie for 20th after one day of competition
- Seniors Philip Knowles and Andrew Alligood joined Mattiace under-par, firing matching rounds of 2-under 69 to sit T34
- Seniors Jordan Batchelor (72) and Travis Trace (80) rounded out the Osprey lineup in T71 and T115, respectively
- Senior Jack Comstock posted a 74 (T94) playing as an individual in the event
