
Men’s Soccer Battles South Carolina in First Road Game

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The North Florida men's soccer team takes on the University of South Carolina in the Ospreys' first road game of the 2017 season and the first meeting between the two teams.

About the Ospreys
North Florida (1-2-0) comes off a 2-1 loss against Georgia Southern after opening the season with three straight home matches. The Ospreys now take to the road for four challenging games. Adrian Nunez leads the team with three goals this year to sit second in the ASUN in that category. Collin Scott and Blake Sams lead the team with one assist a piece.

Nunez was named the ASUN Conference Player of the Week in week one with two goals in three games.
Scouting the Competition
The Gamecocks (2-1-0) come off a disappointing 4-1 loss at No. 5 Clemson on Friday. Mayr Luca leads the team with two goals and three assists on the season. Justin Sukow, Peter Soelberg and Benjamin Gilligan have all scored a goal for the Gamecocks this year. South Carolina knocked off ASUN foe USC Upstate, 2-1, and former ASUN rival, Mercer, 2-1 in OT so far this season. Carolina graduated seven seniors that were key contributors in back-to-back runs to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The team welcomes 14 newcomers including five transfers.Â
UP NEXT
The Ospreys continue a four-game road swing as they head back to the Palmetto State to take on ACC foe No. 5 Clemson on Tuesday, Sept. 12. This meeting will also be the first between the two teams.
