GOALS
USC: 13' – Justin Sukow (Assist: Petter Soelberg)
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Soelberg sent in a cross right in front of the net that was finished by Sukow early in the game.
- In the 82nd minute, Adrian Nunez and AJ Williams had back-to-back shots that were saved by the South Carolina goalie.
- Trying to create last minute heroics again for the Ospreys, LJ Estes fired a shot that found the hands of the goalkeeper.
Marinatos Speaks
"Credit to South Carolina. I thought we had a good game plan, but they created and finished their chance. We created a few chances, but they held the 1-0 lead at half. We had our looks and had three quality chances that we just didn't finish. It was a physical game and they were more efficient than we were. It is definitely disappointing to lose a 1-0 match like that. We have to be more aggressive when putting our chances away. We played some good soccer at times."
GAME NOTES
- The Ospreys held a 7-4 shots advantage, while owning a 3-1 shots lead in the first half.
- UNF generated six chances off corner kicks, while the Gamecocks only had four.
- North Florida put four shots on frame, while USC only had two, one each half.
- Tord Pedersen did not generate a save between the pipes for the Ospreys.
