JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - After finishing non-conference play 6-2, the North Florida women's soccer team was rewarded for its early-season success as the Ospreys are listed at No. 84 in the initial release of the 2017 NCAA Ratings Percentage Index (RPI).

The RPI is a measure utilized to rank teams based on a combination of wins & losses as well as strength of schedule.
The 6-2 start to the season is the best start since 2006 when the Ospreys were transitioning from Division II to Division I. North Florida finished the season ranked 270 last year.
North Florida had a five-game win streak - its longest since 2006 heading into last weekend of play. The Ospreys fell to College of Charleston who are 66 in the RPI, but bounced back with a 2-0 victory against The Citadel.
UNF owns four shut outs on the season and 11 goals to go with 65 shots on goal. A year ago at this point in the season, the Ospreys had just nine goals and a 4-3-2 mark for non-conference play.
On Saturday, the record is 0-0 in head coach Robin Confer's mind as the Ospreys begin ASUN play at crosstown rival Jacksonville. The game is set for 7 p.m. at Southern Oaks Stadium.
