The Short Story: The North Florida baseball team continued their scoring barrage on Tuesday night posting their third consecutive double-figure scoring total with a 12-3 win on the road over Savannah State at Tiger Stadium.

LEADING OFF
- The Ospreys outhit the Tigers, 13-5, and broke things open with a 7-run explosion in the fourth inning
- Freshman RHP Cooper Bradford earned his first victory in his first collegiate start working three innings in a planned multi-pitcher outing. Bradford allowed just one run and one hit while striking out three
- A trio of UNF relievers worked five scoreless innings before the Tigers were able to add a run in their final at-bat
- Four players recorded multiple hits on the night for the Ospreys led by a 3-for-3 performance by Patrick Ervin that also included 3 runs scored, an RBI and two walks
- Yahir Gurrola also continued his torrid pace going 2-for-6 with 3 RBI and a run scored. His two hits included a triple and his team-leading 7th double
- The Tigers first four pitchers surrendered runs in just the second home loss of the year for Savannah State
- SSU got just one hit over the final four innings of play and also saw 15 players strikeout on the night

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Tigers grabbed the early lead after plating a run in the home half of the first inning. Hector Benitez walked to start the game and after moving to second on a groundout, he crossed the plate on a RBI single from Jorge Lopez. Savannah State would have the bases loaded in search of more runs but Bradford struck out Daryl Harper to end the threat
- The lead was short lived as the Ospreys responded with a pair of runs in the top of the second inning. Alex Merritt opened the frame with a single and moved to second in front of a walk by Patrick Ervin. A wild pitch moved both runners into scoring position and Merritt raced home on the play following an error by the catcher. Rey Gonzalez laced a single up the middle to score Ervin and give UNF a 2-1 lead
- North Florida took control in the fourth inning after putting 7 runs on the board. Merritt led off with a double followed by a single for Ervin and an RBI single from Tanner Murphy. Joe Boyle then reached on a fielder's choice but an error by the Tiger first baseman kept the bases loaded. Back to back walks for Gonzalez and Mac Wilson allowed the Ospreys to add two more runs. Gurrola then cleared the bases with a triple down the right field line that pushed UNF in front, 9-1
- UNF added two more runs in the fifth. Ervin again got on pace to start the frame, notching a single followed by a double from Murphy. After a SSU pitching change, Ervin and Murphy would both score on RBI groundouts from Boyle and Gonzalez.
- The Ospreys final run of the night came in the sixth on an RBI single from Ervin. Wesley Weeks singled to lead off the frame and advanced to second on a groundout by pinch-hitter Christian Diaz. Ervin then followed with his run scoring hit.
- Savannah State closed the scoring with a solo run off of UNF reliever Trace Norkus. Khayid Cox led off the ninth with single and moved to second on a walk by Jacob Lightle. After a wild pitch moved the runners up a base, Cox scored on Marcus Mitchell's groundout to second.
