The short story:Â Sophomore Philip Knowles carded a pair of even-par rounds of 70 to pace the North Florida men's golf team in opening day action of the SunTrust Gator Invitational at Mark Bostick Golf Course. Knowles finished the day tied for third in medalist competition with a 36-hole total of 140.

- Knowles carded the team's low round in each of the day's rounds.
- Fellow sophomore Travis Trace matched his teammate in the morning round, shooting an even-par 70 followed by an afternoon round of 75. Trace is currently tied for 19th
- Senior Osten Waite ranks third for the Ospreys, sitting in a tie for 37t after rounds of 76-71
-Dillon Woods (T62) and Andrew Alligood (T65) rounded out the UNF lineup for the event
