FAU Outlasts Women's Basketball in Double Overtime

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Despite double-doubles by two players, North Florida women's basketball dropped a back-and-forth contest to FAU, 83-75, in double overtime on Sunday afternoon at FAU Arena.

- It was the second straight overtime game for the Ospreys this week as they topped Bethune-Cookman on Thursday. It is also the second straight double overtime game against FAU as the teams played to two extras in 2016.
- Senior Keonna Farmer recorded her third straight double-double and fourth overall with a team-best 19 points and season-high 15Â rebounds.
- Classmate Tesh Hanson also recorded 19 points with 14 boards for her second double-double of the season.
- After missing last game, Adrienne Jackson came back to score 13 points off the bench, while Tiffany Tolbert dropped in 11.

First Half Trends
- The game started even as it was tied at 9-all just after the first media timeout.
- North Florida then jumped on a 9-4 run to end the quarter, holding FAU without a basket for more than three minutes down the stretch for an 18-13 lead at the quarter.
- In the second, FAU went on a 7-1 stretch to take its first lead of the game, 20-19, at 7:25.Â
- UNF then hit back-to-back buckets to regain its lead, 24-20, but a triple from Tyana Robinson closed the gap again.Â
- For the final two minutes of the quarter, FAU held UNF to 0-for-6 from the field and eventually tied the game at 30-30 for the half.
Second Half Trends
- FAU took the lead in the third on a trey from Tyana Robinson who hit all of the Owls' treys for the day and North Florida played catch up for the remainder of the game.
- The Ospreys took the lead back late in the third and again early in the fourth on treys from Jackson, but each time FAU had the answer on the other side.
- The second half had nine of the 15 total tie scores for the game.
- Trailing by two with 23 seconds left in the game, Farmer was fouled on the other end and sank both freebies forcing the game into overtime.
Overtime Trends
- It was a low-scoring first overtime with each team netting just six points. UNF went on a 6-2 run to open the frame, but the Owls closed in the final two minutes to force another extra period.
- In the final frame, FAU raced out with a 12-2 surge and never looked back in securing the home win.
