The short story: The North Florida women's golf team made history Monday firing a school record low 284 (-4) in opening round action of the Pinehurst Challenge. The Ospreys are currently fifth at even-par 576 thru 36 holes of play.

FIRST TEE
- Sophomores Teresa Conroy and Sydney Shrader both ended the opening day with under-par totals... Conroy is tied for 12th at 2-under 142 after rounds of 74-68 while Shrader is tied for 16th at 1-under 143 (69-74)
- Senior Courtney Cobb posted rounds of 69-76 to rank tied for 27th (145)
- Junior Kaye Kwon is tied for 44th at 147 (72-75) and freshman Mindy Herrick rounds out the Osprey lineup in a tie for 61st at 150 (75-75)

- Ospreys opening round not only set new program record but marked the 5th lowest round score in the tournament's history
- At last year's event, Conroy fired the program record round of 66 and followed it this year with a 68 (-4) the second best round in program history
- Cobb and Shrader's first round scores of 69 (-3) marked career lows for each golfer
- Kaye Kwon (72) and Mindy Herrick (75) also notched the personal best rounds of their UNF careers
- Ospreys recorded 116 pars thru the first two rounds led by 29 by Conroy, which leads the tournament field
- North Florida collected 29 birdies on Monday with Cobb and Shrader both tallying 8 to pace the squad
- At 9-under 135, Coastal Carolina's Malene Krolboll Hansen tops the individual medalist standings
