Quick Start: The Seahawks (9-2) rattled off six-straight wins to start the season and took two-out-of-three at home against Penn State last weekend. In the first six games, UNCW outscored its opponents 79-26.
Defending Champs: Last year UNCW finished second in the regular season and swept its way through the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament. The were an overwhelming choice by the CAA Coaches to repeat and five Seahawks were named to the Preseason All-Conference Team. In the 2016 Baton Rouge NCAA Regional, UNCW posted two wins against Tulane and lost twice to LSU.National Ranks: UNCW is currently the second-highest scoring team in the nation, plating 9.9 runs per game.
