@OspreyMBB Set for Rematch Against FGCU on Saturday

FT. MYERS, Fla. -- For the second time in a week the North Florida basketball team will be facing off against Atlantic Sun rival FGCU on the hardwood. The rematch, which is being carried on ESPN3 and 92.5 FM, will tip off at 7 p.m. in Alico Arena.

The Ospreys (18-7, 7-1) are looking to bounce back from their first conference loss after dropping an 86-82 decision to Stetson on Monday night. The loss snapped an 18-game home win streak for UNF and also ended a 12-game regular season A-Sun win streak. Dallas Moore scored 25 points to lead the way for North Florida in the loss.

FGCU (13-11, 4-4) enters Saturday's tilt having dropped four straight including an 83-80 loss at Jacksonville on Monday. The Eagles will be playing just their second home game in their last six. FGCU is 11-4 at home this season and have gone 3-1 against Atlantic Sun foes in Alico. Marc-Eddy Norelia leads the way for the Eagles averaging 16.1 points and 8.7 rebounds per game.


In last Saturday's match-up between the pair, the Ospreys posted an 82-76 victory over the Eagles earning the team's third straight win in the series. Beau Beech scored 27 points for UNF highlighed by five three-pointers while Dallas Moore added 18 points and eight assists. Norelia finished with 25 points to pace FGCU. The Ospreys overcame a first-half deficit and led by three points at the half. The Ospreys built a double-digit lead and then fought off a late charge by the Eagles to secure the win.

Following the game at FGCU, North Florida continues its current road swing with a pair games at Kennesaw State (Feb. 11) and Lipscomb (Feb. 13).
